What We Offer

EnduraPost Square Picket Features

Durable

EnduraPost Square Picket's unique mineral composite blend is the secret to why it is so tough. It is particularly suited to harsh environments where water-logged, acidic, alkaline or saline soils cause traditional posts to rot, rust and corrode. EnduraPost will not rot, rust or corrode, nor be eaten by termites and is UV-Stabilized to last in the harsh Australian climate.

Fully Insulated

EnduraPost Square Picket is a fully insulated post meaning it can be electrified with as many wires as needed without the added expense of installing insulators to posts. Use EnduraPost Square Pickets to quickly build a more cost-effective electric fence.

Fire

Do you want to know just how tough EnduraPost products are? A timber post can ignite in a fire from around 150°C but EnduraPost will typically need to reach around 350°C before it will ignite. It does not burn easily or explode, and is able to withstand ember attack, back-burning and grass fires where fuel loads are controlled. See fire statement for futher details.

Easy Installation

EnduraPost Square Picket can be easily installed using manual or mechanical drivers and can be sawn, drilled and screwed. In hard or rocky ground, simply make a pilot hole with a 30-40mm x 450mm masonry drill bit or ground auger to clear rocks or roots before installing. Designed as an inline post (not suitable as a weight-bearing post or strainer), EnduraPost can support all forms of wire, including plain, barbed, hinge-joint and barrier-mesh fencing. It is also great for creating mesh tree-guards around newly planted trees. Download our installation guide from downloads page.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

EnduraPost Square Pickets and Droppers are solid polymer mineral composite made with 100% recycled PP (polypropylene) plastic.

EnduraPost pickets are built tough. Made from recycled polypropylene and a mineral additive to increase strength, this polymer is renowned for its exceptional strength. Designed to perform like traditional wooden or steel pickets, they can withstand tough handling in demanding conditions. While breakage is rare, if you’re experiencing issues, please get in touch with EnduraPost so we can help. Obviously, they are not designed to go through rock or roots.

The Ignition Temperature for Polypropylene (ASTM D1929) is 350⁰C, which is usually hotter than a grass fire that normally reaches between 200-250⁰C.  Some larger bush fires can burn hotter, particularly if the fuel load is wood.  Keeping wood away from fence lines should provide adequate protection, meaning that if a fire happens to pass through, it is likely going to be a grass-only fire.  They are also NOT susceptible to ember attacks, unlike wood.

They have been treated with a double UV package and come with a 10 year warranty. Extended periods in hot sun may cause surface discoloration (fading) without reducing the integrity of the product.

Proper storage matters. Like timber, unstrapped pickets left lying flat in the sun can absorb uneven heat, causing them to bow. To keep them straight, store pickets strapped and out of direct sunlight until installation. Once in place, they receive even heat, and the tension from the fence wires helps maintain their straight form.

Although some photos show plain wire run through the holes, many prefer to use the holes to tie back to instead.  Both methods work well for plain wire, whereas, for barbed wire or hinge-joint / ring-lock simply tie back to the appropriate holes provided, or use the Davo's clips for a faster, more secure result.

Yes, they are tough and can be driven using mechanical or motorized drivers, or, by hydraulic drivers. Avoid using pole driving drop hammers as they may cause too much shock on impact and can cause breakage.

As they are made from plastic, we only recommend they are used as an in-line picket.  They are not suitable as a weight bearing post like a strainer or in-line stiff post.  It’s recommended that EnduraPost Square Pickets be combined with AA-TUFFwood End Strainers or similar.  Then we recommend that a stiff line post or similar is installed as support after every 6 to 10 EnduraPost Square Pickets in a straight line, or, when the fence should make a turn or vertical directional change. Our PLUSpost, AA-TUFFwood or Steel BULLpost range can offer very good long-lasting above ground support.

Built to stay put. While EnduraPost pickets may take a little more effort to drive in due to their increased surface area compared to steel pickets, they make up for it by holding firm in the ground. Their slight flexibility allows them to pivot at the ground base rather than displacing soil like steel pickets—which often become loose over time. The result? A post that stays anchored when it matters most.

For stony or very hard ground we recommend helping them by predrilling a pilot hole using a 35 - 40mm x 450mm masonry drill or earth auger before driving them in.  Other useful methods are by using a water drill, or first ramming and removing a 38-40mm round pipe to create a pilot hole [best for heavy dry river clay]. The use of a square metal sleave when driving them into the pilot hole will also support downward pressure when driving.  Please call our team if you need to.

Due to their unique design allowing them to have some flex with strong memory bounce back, they do not typically loosen in the ground. For this reason they also do not need to be inserted into the ground as deeply, we recommend a min 300mm is sufficient for most applications in most soil types.
